The 700-year tomb attracts attention with frescoes depicting the burial of mother-in-law in China's Chinese book of the Twelve.
Archaeologists in Yangquan, China, discovered an octagonal grave with a wall full of frescoes dating back 700 years, when descendants of Genghis Khan ruled China, Live Science on 10/10 8 coverage. The dome of the tomb is shaped like a pyramid, decorated with the Sun, Moon and stars. A mural draws attention to the story of their parents trying to bury their young son alive.

Archaeological group at the Office of Cultural Heritage Management and Cultural Department of Duong Tuyen City found the tomb in April 2012 and conducted excavations afterwards. Seven walls draw a painting when the eighth wall connects to the entrance. The researchers found no remains inside, though the mural on the north wall indicates the owner of the tomb is a couple. Excavation results are published in the Chinese Cultural Relics magazine.
Some frescoes depict life in China under the rule of the Mongols. Among them were the band of musicians, tea scenes and horses, camels carrying people and goods. Some people in the mural wear Mongolian style clothes, for example the drawing of a camel led by a man 'wearing a hat with four edges, the traditional hat of northern nomadic tribes from ancient times' , archaeologists said.
