The strange blue 'eye' of the 101km long river

The source of the Cetina River begins at a spring in Milasevo near a small village called Cetina, 7km from Vrlika, Croatia. This colorful spring has a very special shape, resembling an eye, and is one of the sources of the longest river in Dalmatia - the Cetina River.

The source spring is called 'the eye of the Earth' with its different shades of blue and turquoise. Seen from above, it is the most unique and attractive beauty in the area. This small body of water is explored by divers. The source of the Cetina River is more than 150m deep.

At the Cetina spring, the water temperature does not exceed 7⁰C even in the middle of summer. If you want to dive here, you need a neoprene suit. On the other hand, the water at the Cetina spring is crystal clear and when you dive, you can see the deep abyss at the bottom of the water source.

The Cetina River Gorge is 101km long. Today, the Cetina River Gorge is popular with tourists looking for adventure activities such as rafting, canyoning, zip-lining, rock climbing, kayaking and other outdoor activities.

The great depth makes Lake Centina a favorite diving spot for many adventurous tourists. In particular, the aquatic life in the lake makes many tourists extremely fascinated.

In addition, this place is also associated with many legends of the indigenous people. Located near the lake is also a Christian church.

Later, people named the river Cetina after the fairy.

Locals believe that by bathing in the river which is the tears of the fairy Cetina, infertile people will soon have children.

Nowadays, tourists can visit the "mysterious dragon eye" from the town of Vrlika, which is 7km from the village of Cetina. In particular, experienced people say this is a place not to be missed in Croatia.

The Cetina River has been recognized as a national heritage of Croatia since 1971, confirming the value and uniqueness of this destination and that it is the richest river in Dalmatia.
