The thousand-year-old strange spectacle makes viewers look sad
The Rhone Glacier is an icy year-round river and has the oldest "longevity" on the Swiss Alps. Over thousands of years of history, the river always boasts to show off the magnificent beauty between heaven and earth.
But now, under the harsh sun and global warming, the Rhone glacier is writhing in pain. The proud icebergs now have to melt like the tears of the river.
Since 1856, the thickness of the ice on the Rhone has decreased by 350m, and if only for the past decade, the river has lost 40m of thick ice.Even the Swiss people had to set up wooden pillars to mark the end of the Rhone glacier.
Global warming has led to melting ice and snowy mountains everywhere on Earth.Faced with this problem, a country cannot unilaterally solve it.
But the Swiss people could not just stand still and watch things go on and on.So, in a hopeless effort, they covered the Alps in the Alps with large, white "blankets" to protect this snowy mountain range.
These "blankets" are made of insulating materials, which can minimize even the ability of the river to absorb heat, contributing to slowing the melting speed of ice.
Many visitors to explore the legendary river did not stop admiring the sight of this scene.Hopefully each of us will seriously recognize, care about the problem of global warming and join hands to protect the planet.
