The Trojan pretends to
Experts from security firm Sophos have issued a warning to Internet users about a Trojan discovered on July 27, 2006, disguised as pictures of a Russian girl looking for love.
When activated by the user, Troj / Keylog-HD will first display a slideshow of three different images named ' Victoria Stasova '. And when the pictures are being displayed, Troj / Keylog-HD will start recording everything the user does on the keyboard, mouse or imported peripherals as soon as it is installed, then it will send all this information to a remote server controlled by the attacker.
Graham Cluley, Sophos senior technical consultant, said: ' The danger is that everyone thinks simply that it is the image of a beautiful Russian girl looking for her half. But behind that, important and secret information such as username and password will be stolen. One of the ways this malware approaches users is online chat. Users realize that they are chatting with someone who believes in 'virtual love' and then they will receive a photo slideshow. These love victims did not know that when they made a slideshow, it was possible that their pockets were being stolen . '
