The world's deepest seabed was first explored
Autosub6000
Scientists from the international deep-sea survey project InterRidge said in March 2010 they will officially launch the world's deepest seabed exploration device.
This probe, named 'Autosub6000', belongs to Southampton National Marine Center (UK).
According to the project, Autosub6000 will conduct exploration in the Cayman Trench sea area between Jamaica and the Cayman Islands, about 100km in length, the deepest point up to 7680m.
Previously, exploration and exploration work only at sea areas with a depth of about 3800m.
Scientists hope that in 2010, exploration may bring about important findings about the mysteries deep in the ocean.
