The world's first penis and scrotum implant

A group of American doctors have successfully performed a "full" implant surgery for sensitive areas of men. But testicles are not implanted for moral reasons.

The surgery was performed at Johns Hopkins University Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. The patient was a soldier wounded in the battlefield with a group of 11 doctors.

The 14-hour surgery takes place on March 26, in which patients receive skin, bone, muscle, tendon graft and blood vessels. Doctors used the penis and scrotum and part of the abdominal wall of a lost donor.

They are optimistic that soldiers will recover completely in 6-12 months and can restore sexual activity, which is not possible with penile plastic surgery.

The soldier - the desire to remain anonymous said: "When I woke up after the surgery, I felt I was more normal and I was finally fine".

Dr. Rick Redett, a direct visitor to the patient, said he is recovering well and will be discharged this week."We hope the surgery will help him restore hygiene and sexual activity and have a more normal life. This is our goal in the future towards appropriate patients."

This is the first operation for a wounded veteran while performing the first complete transplant operation with tissue in the scrotum and abdomen. However, the testicles of donors are not transplanted to patients for moral reasons.

In 2014, surgeons in South Africa successfully performed the world's first penile transplant.
