According to the technical staff of the forestry enterprise, the climate is favorable for the development of worms, high and humid temperatures in the rainy season, so the life cycle of the worm is shortened and the speed of growth is faster. On average, deep and deep cocoon density is from 150-200 heads / tree, above 1,010 hectares of deep infected pine.

In sub-zones 547, 548, 549 and 544, the pests were more severe, there were forest plots of zones 548, 549 and 544 worms eating to the leaves only inert branches, the density was up to 500-700 child / tree. The area of ​​pine forest is very heavy, up to 358 hectares.

Ben Hai SFE mobilized forces using light traps to catch butterflies; postponing the daily work of officials and employees to focus on the deep-killing campaign; assigning the target of area of ​​pestilent pine forest to the units to actively kill pests and butterflies. The SFE also prepared high-speed spraying chemicals and tools to spray on a large area and sprayed on top of the tree, contracting more sprayers to conduct spraying simultaneously, ahead of time. focus on the most heavily affected forest plots to protect trees and kill worms more effectively for the entire forest.
