According to the National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting, on October 30 morning, typhoon No. 5 (international name is Matmo) continued to strengthen. At 7am, the storm center is located in the northwestern area of the Spratly Islands. Currently, the storm is about 260 km to the east of the provinces of Binh Dinh - Khanh Hoa with the strongest wind near the center reaching level 9, level 11.

During the day, storms move rapidly mainly in the west with a speed of 15-20 km / h and are likely to be stronger. By 19h on 30/10, the storm was on the coastal area of provinces from Quang Ngai to Khanh Hoa with the strongest wind near the center at level 9 (90 km / h), level 11-12.
In the following hours, Typhoon Matmo remained the same speed and intensity, headed west and went inland from Quang Ngai to Khanh Hoa and gradually weakened into tropical depression and low pressure.

Very heavy rain in Central Vietnam and Central Highlands
