Experts have been struggling to find the answer to the appearance of thousands of strange holes in the sea floor off the coast of California, USA.

RT TV (Russia) reported that scientists at the Monterey Bay Ocean Research Institute (MBARI) were surveying the deep sea floor off the coast of California to build wind power plants when they discovered an alarming phenomenon. : thousands of mysterious holes, some up to 5 meters deep.
MBARI has found 'pitted scars' on the sea floor using ultrasound technology 20 years ago. However, this new and much more detailed discovery has revealed the alarming scale of the situation, with over 5,200 holes spread over an area of 1,300 km2.
Experts are completely surprised to not understand what or what created these holes. Similar situations have been found in many parts of the world, such as near Taiwan (China) related to the release of methane . However, sediments or seawater in California showed no trace of the gas.
The release of gas can cause fluctuations in the sea floor - threatening wind turbines - but MBARI asserts that deep holes will not work for at least the next 50,000 years.'The cause and existence of deep holes is still a mystery , ' said researcher Eve Lundsten at MBARI.
