Three great teachers

Picture 1 of Three great teachers When Hasan, a Muslim sage who was about to die, someone asked him: ' Hasan, who is your teacher?'

Hasan replied: 'Our teachers are countless. If you review their names, they will probably take months and years, and so too late because our time is very small. But we can tell about my three following teachers.

The first one is a thief . Once I got lost in the desert, when we found a village, it was very late, all the houses went to sleep. But I finally found a person, he was walling a house in the village. I asked him where he could stay, and he answered: 'It is difficult to find a place to stay, so you can come to my place if you are not afraid to stay with the thief'.

That man is very great. It would have lingered a month! Every night he said: 'I'm going to work here. You stay home and pray for me! ' Every time he comes back we ask, 'Can we steal anything?' and he said, 'Today is not, but tomorrow I will try, maybe.' I never had his teacher in desperate condition, he was always happy.

I once pondered and pondered for many years so that I could not realize a truth. I fell so desperate, so desperate, that I thought I had to end all these nonsense. Immediately after that I suddenly remembered the thief, who still insisted every night: 'I will be able to do it tomorrow, maybe it is!'

The second teacher is a dog . When we went to the river to drink water, a dog appeared. It is also thirsty. But when he looked down at the river, he saw his shadow but thought he was another dog. Frightened, it howls and runs away. But then it went thirsty back. Finally, wearing fear in his heart, he jumped into the river and the shadow disappeared. I understand this is a message that has been sent to us: people must know how to overcome the fear in their hearts with action.

The last teacher is a child . I went to a certain city and saw a child holding a lit candle to place in the temple.

I asked the child: 'You light this candle yourself, don't you?' The child replied, "Yes." Then I asked: 'The candle was not lit earlier, but only a few moments later was lit. So do you know where the light comes from? '

The child laughed loudly, blew out the candle and said: 'You see the light is gone, so where do you tell the light to go?'

What I arrogant of me completely collapsed, my ancient knowledge also collapsed. At that time, I realized my ignorance. And from there we throw away all the pride of our knowledge.

It can be said that we don't have a teacher, but this does not mean that we are not a student. I see things as teacher. Our learning spirit is always more open than everyone. We learn from all things, from the branches of the grass to the clouds in the sky. I don't have a teacher because I have millions and millions of teachers I have learned whenever I can. The essential thing in life is to always be a student. What does this mean? It means being able to learn, always ready to learn to accept the meaning of all things. The teacher is the one through which we begin to learn how to learn.
