Three new spider species were discovered in Phong Nha - Ke Bang

A Vietnamese scientist has just announced three new spider species, collected in many caves in Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, Quang Binh province.

On May 9, Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park said, Dr. Pham Dinh Sac (Institute of Ecology and Biological Resources, under the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology) has just announced the discovery of three species of spiders. new in Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, Quang Binh province.

These three new species of spiders belong to the Pholcidae family , described based on the specimens collected in the Cave statues, Paradise cave and Seven Floor cave. Newly discovered species have a special life in the cave environment.

Pholcus bifidus species found in the Cave , different from all other species of the Pholcus genus because of the protruding protrusions of the male's pincers, the long and pointed, slightly arched spines of the genus; The genitalia protrudes outward.

The species Pholcus caecus found in Thien Duong cave has a very small body size; no eyes; appear sharp and sharp horns on the upper side of the chest armor.

Khorata protumida species discovered in Bay Gioi cave have mel-shaped plates like arches in the lower jaw; there are 4 protruding bars in the upper jaw; the outer door of the genitals is a hardened chemical of the chitin.

Previously, in 2010 and 2012, Dr Pham Dinh Sac and his colleagues published a new breed and two species of cave scorpions in Phong Nha - Ke Bang area.
