Tornadoes and hail ravaged Ha Giang and Cao Bang

Influence of cold air makes whirlwinds, hail occur on a large scale, thousands of houses are broken, speeding roof.

On the night of April 25, the cold air spilled while the heat of the northern provinces was high. The conflict between cold and hot air causes whirlwinds and hail to take place on a large scale in Ha Giang and Cao Bang. In Ha Giang, 4 people were injured, about 400 houses collapsed, speeding roof.

Also around this time, a hail of more than 20 minutes occurred in Cao Bang with many large rocks, 3-4cm in diameter. Nearly 1,800 houses were broken and riddled with roofs, hundreds of hectares of crops and industrial trees were damaged.

At the end of March and early April, continuous hail hit many localities in the northern mountainous region, causing heavy damage. According to the Central Hydrometeorological Center, about a month later, hail is likely to happen because it is still in the transition period.
