American Airlines had to cancel hundreds of flights at Dallas-Forth Worth airport, the world's eighth-largest airport, and move passengers from glass windows to ensure safety. American television broadcast images showing houses collapsed, even the second floor collapsed. Many properties were blown away by the wind.

One of the tornadoes swept through a parking lot including many large trucks and local television stations recorded the wind blowing many big trucks flying into the air. Container containers attached to trucks were also destroyed.

Witnesses said the strong tornado formed very quickly."All of a sudden, the rain and hail are all over," said one resident. "That's when we saw the whirlwind."

More than 100 aircraft were also greatly damaged by hail. Currently thousands of households must live in the absence of electricity. Police warned people to stay away from damaged power lines to ensure their safety.
