The pile ground was discovered on October 1 by Mr. Nguyen Tuan Trieu, village 3, Mai Dong village, while digging areca soil in Cao Quy field. He and his family dug two piles and stored them in Mai Dong village communal house.

News, Hai Phong Museum, Department of Culture and Information of Thuy Nguyen district and People's Committee of Lien Khe commune went to the communal house to take samples of 2 wooden poles to conduct inspection, and preserve artifacts.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Hien, Team 5 said that people in Lien Khe commune had known about this pile ground many years ago, but no one thought that it was from the Tran dynasty, so the process of farming and hitting it all had to be removed.

Immediately after obtaining the results of dating the piles dating from 1,270 to 1,430, archaeologists and historical researchers identified Cao Quy field as the relic of the pile site related to the naval battle on the Bach Dang River in the year. 1288 against Mongol invaders. The location of the pile ground is the old Da Bach river.

According to historical documents, Lien Khe used to belong to Truc Dong canton, Thuy Duong district, Kinh Mon district, Hai Duong town. It also handed down historical legends about the battles against the Northern invaders, including the victory of Hung Dao Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan. Truc Dong was used as a base to go to the mouth of the Bach Dang and Chanh rivers to destroy and capture the marines of the Nguyen Mong Empire.
