Transplants can run at speeds of up to 50km / h, with no emissions and less noise pollution. New vehicles are expected to contribute to reducing traffic congestion on busy roads in Shanghai, especially during peak hours.
Ecns said the cost of building a monorail over a kilometer long is 12 million yuan (nearly $ 2 million). The new Transparent Ships model was introduced at the China International Industrial Fair on Wednesday.
Authorities in some areas of Shanghai are investigating the feasibility of this vessel. Analysts said that if the project was approved, the overhead railway could bridge the city's administrative and commercial centers, boosting tourism.
Overhead elevators have been built in some German cities. In Dusseldorf, the route connecting the city terminal to the airport was put into use in 2002.
