'Tree people' in Indonesia

With hard and dry horns growing and spreading all over the limbs, the unfortunate man in the fishing village south of Jakarta's capital, Indonesia, feared that someday he would turn into a lumpy old tree Long, long-sprouted roots.

Dede's horrifying illness probably appeared from the knee surgery 20 years ago. The first ' roots ' begin to grow in the arms and legs, then spread throughout the body, hard, dry, frighteningly bristling.

Until both hands covered their horns, Dede was fired; His wife was horrified because the disease also left her husband. The 35-year-old man alone with his ' roots ' hands had to manage his two school children by himself, accepting the fact that one day he would be permanently gone by an incurable disease.

In order to raise money to support the whole family, Dede accepted an invitation to attend local ' monstrous ' shows, exposing his face to the curious and terrifying eyes of thousands of spectators. Although he knew the poverty of the three children, the fishing village where he lived was still unable to get close, getting acquainted with the man who carried the hideous ' roots '. Many people are even estranged and chased away.

Fortunately, the appearance of Dr. Anthony Gaspari gave him the bad fishermen the glimmer of hope. From the University of Maryland, the American expert in dermatological research confirmed that Dede's disease was caused by HPV (human papillomavirus).

This is not a rare phenomenon - HPV usually occurs in the human body in the form of warts and warts. However, Dede's case is much more complicated: a rare ' bug ' gene that destroys the immune system, making his body unable to resist or reconcile with the tumors .

As a result, HPV virus has inherited the ability to manipulate the entire process of skin cell reproduction, requiring that the apparatus produce a large amount of dry and hard horn scales on the patients' limbs. This is going on continuously, so massively that the client itself cannot control.

In the initial tests, Dr. Gaspari suspected Dede was infected with the HIV virus (causing AIDS) because the blood leukocyte level was too low, but later checked, he understood the cause of sex. This is because Dede's immune system is weak beyond imagination . Parents, siblings in the Dede family no one has this disease.

Talking to Discovery Channel reporter, Gaspari said that the growth of horns in Indonesian men can be improved by drinking a form of vitamin A synthesized every day.

'He can't come back like a normal person but vitamin A will help control the rate of disease development, gradually peeling away the existing flakes of the body. If lucky, within 3 to 6 months Dede will be able to use both hands to do light work '.

The hard, rough roots and the highest ' longevity ' on Dede's limbs will have to use surgical cutlery to separate.

Dr. Gaspari hopes that all the medicines needed to treat Dede's illness will be funded by major pharmaceutical companies. He is also trying to call for international humanitarian organizations to support funding to bring this special patient to the US to better cure it.
