Trojan warning fake to sell products
Fake alerts of Trojan Troj / FakeVir-O
Security firm Sophos has warned users of a new way to make money by bringing a malicious code to a victim's computer while accessing the Internet. This code will display fake warnings that the computer has been infected with a virus and requires users to purchase the recommended software.
The new trojan, called 'Troj / FakeVir-O', gives fake warnings with a software sale page and says these software can protect users' computers from spyware.
Sophos also said the trojan was created by members of the security company to attract more users to visit their site to increase revenue. Users should be alert about this type of warning information.
