Appeared a fake Google Toolbar trojan

UK's SurfControl has just issued a warning about the emergence of a new trojan masquerading as the latest version of Google Toolbar.

The trojan is spread primarily by a fake email path sent by the world's leading Google search provider, which provides information about the latest version of the Google Toolbar software. Attached is a link to download the software.

Click on that link and the user will be taken to a fake website that looks exactly like the Google Toolbar website. But if users click on the link to download the Google Toolbar software, they actually downloaded a trojan.

The trojan is actually downloaded as a downloader trojan and is a trap of cyber criminals to help them build botnet systems.

Once successfully hacked into the user's system, the trojan will download more malware to turn the user's PC system into a "zombie" - in other words, the PC system. being hijacked by hackers. That PC zombie has naturally become part of the hacker's botnet for their other purposes.

Security vendors warn users to be careful when downloading software from the Internet. It is best to visit reputable websites to download. At the same time, when downloading software, there should be a scan of that software virus. Each user should use a personal firewall software.
