Responding to Earth Hour, environmental organizations have just launched a contest to raise awareness of youth about climate change.

"Turning off the lights to turn on the 2014 idea" is a photo design competition printed on T-shirts with the theme of Earth Hour and climate change for young people; thereby helping to raise awareness and change behavior to mitigate climate change. The contest has the theme "For a green, clean and beautiful Vietnam" and the slogan "An idea, a shirt, a planet".

This year's contest calls for contestants through works that highlight the current environment, the problems that exist in Vietnam, behaviors and habits that negatively affect the environment and offer solutions. improve your own living environment, as well as positive and environmentally friendly behaviors and habits.

The organizers said that the 10 best contest designs will be printed on 1,000 T-shirts and sold to raise funds to carry out environmental activities for young people. T-shirts will be a tool to convey effective and durable Earth Hour messages to Vietnamese youth community.

The profits from the sale of 2014's shirt will be spent to support the campaign 's afforestation fund "I will if you will 2014" . This campaign set out the goal in 2014 to grow 3,000 mangrove trees in Thua Thien Hue mangrove forest, contributing to preventing natural disasters and mitigating climate change. The competition is organized by Boo Vironment environmental project with legal support of Live & Learn.

48 best entries of the competition from 2010 to 2013 were printed on 4,800 T-shirts. All profits are contributed to the fund for implementing Earth Hour and environmental protection activities.
