'Winding up' for Earth Hour campaign 2017

From 20:30 to 21:30 on March 25, 2017, the Earth Hour 2017 event in Vietnam was officially started with more than 5,000 young people and people in Ho Chi Minh City participating.

Earth Hour campaign 2017 is expected to continue to contribute positively in raising people's awareness of energy conservation and environmental protection, coping with climate change. The campaign calls on people to turn off unnecessary electrical equipment in an hour (from 20:30 to 21:30).

In 2016, the whole country turned off electricity for one hour, saving 451,000kWh.

2009 was the first year Vietnam participated in Earth Hour Campaign which saved 140,000 kWh. Subsequently, in 2010 and 2011, the program in turn saved 500,000 kWh and 400,000 kWh. In 2012, saving up to 546,000 KWh.

In 2013 and 2014, Earth Hour campaign in Vietnam has attracted the participation of all 63 provinces and cities, demonstrating the determination of the Government and people of Vietnam on action against climate change and saving. electricity. According to statistics, Earth Hour 2013 Vietnam saved 401,000 KWh, continued to increase this figure to 431,000 kWh in 2014.

In 2015 alone, the total electricity saved at the lights-off ceremony on March 22 in Hanoi and March 28, in provinces and cities across the country was 520,000 kWh, saving about VND 850 million. In 2016, the whole country turned off electricity for one hour, saving 451,000kWh.
2017 is the 9th year of the campaign held in Vietnam, the second year in the three-year roadmap "challenges - overcome - change" towards the 10th anniversary of Earth Hour in Vietnam in 2018.

Especially, in 2017, there are two official ambassadors: singer-actor Isaac and singer Ai Phuong, promising to bring a fresh and enthusiastic new wind for Earth Hour 2017.
