Turn waste into fashionable products

Plastic items are increasingly popular, but its hard-to-decompose properties are also serious environmental problems. India is the world's most serious plastic waste water, Conserve Non-Governmental Organization has sought to recycle plastic waste to make useful items.

Used plastic bags are everywhere, they cause congestion in cities. They are also murderers for any unfortunate animal that swallowed.

Beginning in 1999, the Conserve NGO began studying the project of turning plastic waste into useful fashion products like handbags, shoes or household appliances .

Anita Ahuja, President of Conserve, said: " Currently, people are using a lot of plastic bags and throwing them indiscriminately. We find that doing so is not true. We want to create our own landfills and "We will collect this special waste to make bags, shoes and many other items. The production of fashion items is not too complicated, but it also requires a lot of manpower ."

Every morning, many people, mostly women, travel everywhere to pick up used plastic bags. They were instructed to classify bags by color. After the collection, the bags were taken to the laundry department on the outskirts of the city. After being cleaned and dried, the bags were taken to the production department. People use high temperatures to roll bags into sheets.

Based on the color of the plastic sheet, the designers created designs for the bags. Not stopping at the initial success, people also make shoes and household items. Waste plastic is also the raw material to produce colorful jewelry.
