Turn your phone into a wireless charger with just a sticker
A French company has introduced a wireless charging system that uses an ultra-thin sticker.
Wireless charging is now considered a trendy feature on mobile devices. However, many devices, including high-end Apple products, are not equipped with this feature. With such cases, you can choose a solution called Energysquare.
Energysquare lets you charge multiple devices at the same speed with the classic charger, just by placing it on a thin charging pad.
Energysquare is a wireless charging solution developed by French researchers. The system includes a sticker that sticks to the back of the device and a charging pad.
According to Afrench, the company that invented the method, its wireless charging system can be applied to most smartphones on the market and you can charge multiple devices on the charging pad at the same time: "Energysquare is a new generation of wireless chargers that allows you to charge multiple devices at the same speed with a classic charger, just by placing it on a thin charging pad. Without touch, without electromagnetic waves, we use its own conductive technology invention ".
Slim and sticky stickers are designed with 2 conductive dots, directly connected to the battery of the device to be charged.
Afrench is currently launching an investment call campaign on Kickstarter in hopes of earning $ 33,630 to support the production of Energysquare devices. Afrench has now collected $ 75,539 from 758 supporters and this amount is expected to increase further during the remaining 20 days of the campaign.
Users will receive a charging pad and 5 stickers when committing to support the 44 USD program. Estimated retail price of this product can range from 91 USD to 106 USD.
Energysquare can charge for any type of phone.
Energysquare can charge for any type of phone with micro-USB ports, USB Type-C or Lightning. Slim and sticky stickers are designed with 2 conductive dots, directly connected to the battery of the device to be charged. They are also equipped with 2 conductive electrodes and a connector that can plug into the electrical outlet of the device you want to charge.
The charger plate consists of many conductive squares, which are independently controlled by the system hidden inside.
Meanwhile, the charging plate consists of many conductive squares, which are independently controlled by the hidden system. When we put the device with a dedicated back patch on the charging plate, the conductive dots of the patch connect to two different conductive boxes on it. Charging will start when the system detects physical contact.
Representative of Afrench said: "Unlike induction charging, this system does not waste electricity. Many devices can be placed on the charging pad at the same time. If you want to go back to the classic charger, you just remove the patch and charge normally in the old way ".
Charging pads will be released in 2 sizes: Square One and Square Two.
The whole system is water resistant, does not emit electromagnetic waves, is compatible with all smartphones, tablets and is designed to resist bumps during everyday use.
Charging pads will be released in 2 sizes: Square One and Square Two . The system also integrates a mode called "smart sleep" to avoid power loss during use.
Afrench said it will create an open source system to help device makers make compatible products with Energysquare.
