This archaeological excavation site is located in Xa Dan 1 lane, Nam Dong ward, Dong Da district, Hanoi under the project of Kim Lien - O bien Dua 1 ring road. Dr. Kien asserted that this excavation area is definitely the Xa Tac herd, one of the most important relics of ancient Thang Long.
According to Dr. Nguyen Dinh Di, geologist, the ground in the surveying pits is very firm, so it can be confirmed that this is the ground of the monument.
As one of the ancient herds, the Tac Xa Communal House was established to sacrifice the Earth Spirit (Than Dat) and the Nong Than - two gods of wet rice civilization. According to the Hanoi school, Nguyen Vinh Phuc, Dan Xa Tac was formed from the reign of Ly Thai Tong (Mau Ty year 1048). By the time of King Le Chieu Thong (1788), he lost sight.
The Xa Tac flock is usually covered with open-air, consisting of 2 floors, square, the main face facing north, both floors have brick railings running around, in the middle of each side, the hierarchy is built. Next to the tower is about 28m high, the top floor is about 1.6m high, which is the place where the king rose to worship.
On the ground, there are 32 stone pedestals to dislodge. The Xa Tac campus is limited to a rectangular brick wall. On the north side, there are 3 doors, only one door is left. Outside the citadel in the south is a screen.
Currently, archaeologists have excavated 3 holes to explore on the excavation area of 100m2. Excavations began on October 31 and are scheduled to end by the end of November. But before finding relics and relics, Hanoi City People's Committee has allowed excavation work to expand the area and pull. long through December.
According to Mr. Nguyen Hong Kien, in addition to the two jars just discovered yesterday morning (still not taken out of the ground, so no verification of the contents), most of the relics found are just the pieces of brick and tile belonging to The ages of Ly, Tran and Le.
In addition, archaeologists also discovered some ancient tiled floors and some of them are probably parapet or brick ditches. However, because the area of excavation as well as the number of relics discovered is not much, Mr. Kien has not confirmed anything more.
