The Head of the Sun Research Department of Pulkovo Observatory, the Russian Academy of Sciences - PhD in Mathematics Li Habibullo Abdusamatov said, since 2014 the Earth has entered an ice cycle.

Professor Abdusamatov is currently the Director of the Astrometry Project, which is essentially studying the Sun's activity. This familiar star has a number of operating cycles: the 11-year cycle, characterized by the appearance of black marks and 24-year cycles, characterized by a decline in activities. In addition, the 200-year cycle, from 1990 began to enter the end.

The new cold period will last no less than two centuries

Professor Аbdusamatov explored the relationship between those cycles with the diameter of the Sun. The Sun's radiation, which determines the temperature of the Earth, depends on its diameter. The cyclical nature of this change allows you to judge past cold periods and predict future cold periods. According to Prof. Abdusamatov, we are at the beginning of a cold period whose peak is in 2055.

The new cold period will last no less than two centuries, as reported by the Russian press. On the contrary, warming pro-Earth advocates argue that it was in that year that 'the Earth will boil like a pot of water that we do not withdraw wood'.

Vesti.ru newspaper (Russia) added: This is not uncommon, only in the era of humanity did we witness not only one but two ice ages. The long-lasting cold phenomenon that Russian scientists predict will be the fifth "small cold period" in the last nine centuries. Similar climatic phenomena occurred in the XIII, XV, XVII and XIX centuries.

Mr. Abdusamatov warned, although it was a "small cold period" , it did not mean that it happened without attention. Normally, in every cold cycle, there are diseases, crop failures as well as mass migration in the world, the scientist said.
