Underwater photographer Sam Wild caught a 37kg dog tuna in Fiji Island, according to Newshub. Sam visited the tropical island nation last week to hunt carnivorous fish. Photographs of Sam and the booty of a fever on social networks by a two-meter-tall photographer look much smaller next to the giant fish.
"Dog tuna is always on my target list. The strength of this fish is unlike any other species I have ever met before. It fights very hard. But I finally caught the fish worth it. remember in life, " said Sam, who specializes in hunting fish with tuberculosis.
Dog tuna is notoriously difficult to catch because they are very strong and fierce. Sam said that many sharks surrounded the area, but he could still pull tuna to the surface before they got close.
Male tuna (Gymnosarda unicolor) male can reach a length of 1.9 to 2.5 meters and weighs 130kg. They are widely distributed in tropical waters from the east coast of Africa to French Polynesia, the Pacific Islands, northern Japan and southern Australia. This aggressive opportunistic predator often eats small fish and squid.
