Typhoon Goni and Atsani headed straight for East Asia

Tropical storm Goni moved through the region near the northern Philippines on the afternoon of August 21, causing heavy rain for the area while Typhoon Atsani was approaching the Japanese islands.

Goni and Atsani appear quite close together in the Pacific Northwest.

Typhoon Atsani is large and intense but far from the mainland than Goni storm.

Goni's eyes on August 17.According to the US Army's Storm Warning Center, Goni is located about 980 km southwest of Okinawa Prefecture, Japan and maximum winds of 185 km / h at 5 am 21/8 (Eastern American time ).Thus, it is equivalent to a Category 3 storm on the Saffir Simpson hurricane scale.

As of 5 pm EDT (August 6, Japanese time), Atsani moved about 480 km east of Iwo Jima.
