Mr. Bui Minh Tang, Director of the Central Center for Meteorology and Hydrology said, Haiyan is the most intense storm in history ever entered the East Sea, which can be compared with the strongest storms on Earth before. so far as hurricane Andrew, Katrina stormed into the US, storm Nargis hit Myanmar. Vietnam has been hit by strong storms but no storm has strong winds of over 149km / h while Haiyan winds up to 220km / h.
Haiyan is the 30th storm to form on the Pacific Northwest. The initial formation position is very low latitude about 5-6 North latitude and in the middle of the Pacific Ocean (147-148 East longitude). The scope of newspaper radius is very wide, at 400-500km.
According to the experience of the countries experienced, the devastating power of the storm like Haiyan is very dire. People, livestock and pets are at high risk of being injured or killed by falling debris or flying down. Storms can destroy almost all level 4 houses, regardless of how well they are built.
High-rise buildings may break glass. Billboards, fences will be destroyed. Trees, electric poles are broken and uprooted. Power outages can last for weeks, communication is stalled, traffic is broken and interrupted. Long-term water shortages will increase people's hardship. Most of the housing area will not be available for weeks or months.
