Unique 'sea slug species' of a single use

This 'special' male sea slug re-grows "of the quarter" after each mating.

The "unique" sea slug is named Chromodoris reticulata , found by Japanese scientists in the Pacific Ocean.

Research leader Ayami Sekizawa of Osaka City University, Japan, said this is the first organism discovered to be able to repeat sexual intercourse with 'longer zin'.

Sekizawa researcher and colleagues discovered the special snail on diving in shallow coral reefs near Okinawa, Japan.

Male sea slugs often throw away the old genitalia after each relationship, regrow the new one and continue with the "new game" like never happened.

Researchers create experimental tanks and monitor mating individuals.

Sea slugs are bisexual animals, so each sea slug plays the role of both males and females, depending on the need during mating.

During the monitoring process, the scientists found that after mating, the male sea slug separated from the partner, the bull went with the penis pulled along behind. About 20 minutes later, the penis split apart.

Sekizawa researcher said: 'The penis length at the sea slug falls 1/3 after each mating and the body will grow as new.'

However, the loss and regrowth of the genitalia does not seem to prevent the extreme sex life of the sea slug. Experts witness an individual performing 3 mating times only 24 hours apart.

Male sea slugs found in the Pacific Ocean are the only organisms that can reproduce the genitals.
