Scientists at the University of Turku conducted research with 2,000 babies from birth until they were 24 years old, to understand the relationship between breastfeeding and the personality of children as adults. Children in the study were divided into two groups: one breastfed, the other breastfed.

The results showed that those who breastfed were more likely to develop aggressive, suspicious and cynical behaviors than those who were exclusively breastfed during the first four to six months of life.

Scientists find that the suspicious and cynical personality often appears in men, while the personality or anger is more common in women.

Dr. Paivi Merjonen, head of research, said on the Daily Mail : 'The study was conducted with a large number of children showing that breastmilk has a long-term impact on children's personality development. Children who are not breastfed have a higher rate of development of anti-breastfeeding character than breastfed babies.

The study also found another effect of breastfeeding, which is to help children develop better intelligence, reduce the risk of obesity and other diseases.

As recommended by doctors, children should be exclusively breastfed for the first 6 months of life. After that, the child should be allowed to eat solid food gradually, but continue to be breastfed until age 1.
