From the Department of Radiation and Nuclear Control and Safety (Ministry of Science and Technology), the Nuclear Research Institute has dismantled to upgrade the control system of Da Lat nuclear reactor. The old control system installed in 1983, was first upgraded in 1993.
This upgrade was carried out by two sources of funding: the International Atomic Energy Agency's funding of US $ 243,000 and scientific funding of about US $ 400,000 to replace the entire measurement of neutron and control signal logic of control system.
According to the plan, in March, the staff of the institute and foreign experts will conduct inspection, test and calibration of the entire system. After the evaluation, the Department of Radiation and Nuclear Control and Safety will advise the Minister of Science and Technology on the issuance of a license to re-operate Da Lat nuclear reactor in May 2007.
