Variation of Earth temperature for nearly 140 years
NASA presents graphics showing that the global average temperature tends to increase, the last three years are the hottest years in history.
NASA graphics of Earth's surface temperature between 1880 and 2017 show a global warming trend, Science Alert on April 10 reported. NASA collected temperature data from 6,300 weather stations, ships, research buoys and research stations in Antarctica.
The temperature started to increase since the 1980s.
The temperature fluctuation is relatively stable with the blue, white and yellow markings on the Earth's surface at the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century. However, the temperature started to increase since the 1980s. Clearly in the video when the yellow, orange and red colors dominate.
2017 is the year with the second highest Earth surface temperature since 1880, when people began to measure the world temperature. The average global temperature last year was 0.9 degrees C higher than the 1951-1980 period, according to NASA's Goddard Space Research Institute. Meanwhile, 2016 is the year with the highest average heat level.
"The past three years have been the highest temperatures in history. This is part of a long-term warming trend , " said Petteri Taalas, secretary-general of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). New NASA graphics can be a driving force for people to try to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, invest in clean energy and care more about the environment.
