Viacom shook hands with Joost as a television

After a stressful lawsuit to ask the virtual social network YouTube to remove more than 100,000 videos uploaded to the system illegally, Viacom announced that on February 21, they had established a relationship. Working with Internet TV Network (IPTV) Joost, is an online video rival created by the founders of Skype.

Accordingly, hundreds of hours of many video programs will be provided free to Joost network users. The package includes all Viacom's TV channels including MTV, Comedy Central, TV Land, and BET, along with many films produced by Paramount Pictures.

Joost is the latest face among video networks, developed by two Skype programmers Niklas Zennström and Janus Friis from the " The Venice Project " project based on the Kazaa media file sharing network. The name of Sharman Networks (Australia) and officially launched in January 2007.

It is praised to be quite similar to real TV channels, but there are still limited content criticisms and requires a very wide bandwidth platform. That makes the Joost service not available in countries where Internet service provider download speeds are too low.
