Video: Meteorite plunges into eastern Russia and explodes

People in the Amur region of Russia discovered a glowing object flying in the sky, leaving a long trail of white in the atmosphere in the early morning of January 18.

People see smoke streaks that asteroids leave near a military barracks in Belogorsk city, Amur region yesterday morning.

"The smoke that meteorites leave is like a smokescreen, but much bigger and brighter , " a witness in Belogorsk city told Amur.info.

Then the stone exploded, but about 8 minutes later thunder-like sounds reached the ears of the people.

"It's a loud bang. Smoke stains in the sky for at least two hours," one resident said.

People in the city of Blagoveshchensk, about 115km from Belogorsk, also saw meteors.

The object does not destroy anything on the ground and even the window frames do not shake.
