Video: Rubik block solver 3x3x3 in just 1 second
The shortest time to solve the 3x3x3 Rubik block that humans achieved is 4.90 seconds (the record of Lucas Etter just created last year) but for the machine below it only takes 1,047 seconds to complete.
The shortest time to solve the 3x3x3 Rubik block that humans achieved is 4.90 seconds (the record of Lucas Etter just created last year) but for the machine below it only takes 1,047 seconds to complete.
The machine was built by Jay Flatland and Paul Rose and they thought it could solve the 3x3x3 Rubik block in a blink of an eye. To rotate the sides of the Rubik block, they use 6 electric motors, each with a 4-pin clamp head and on the 3x3x3 Rubik block, they cut 4 small free slots on the square at the center corresponding to 4 pins contact of motor. The motors are fixed on a frame system printed with 3D printers. Next, they used four webcams (Logitech C310) located at the corners, connected to a computer to scan the Rubik's faces.

Information about the color and state of the Rubik's cube is treated with the Kociemba Rubik block algorithm, thus giving the necessary steps to solve the Rubik mass in the shortest time. Rotation is transmitted to an integrated Arduino chip board for processing and controlling 6 motors.
To test, Flatland masks the webcam and shuffles the Rubik block in random order. After that, he put the Rubik block back into the machine and ran it, resulting in only 1,047 seconds to finish.
Flatland and Rose are now submitting this result to the world record organization and, if recognized, their machines will shove Cubestomer's record 3 in 2014 with a time of 3,253 seconds.
