Video: Sharks walk

A type of shark that has a walking-like path has just been discovered in Indonesia's eastern sea.

Dr. Gerald Allen, a researcher at the Western Australian Museum, is the one who captures this interesting scene.

The video was filmed in the east coast of Indonesia recording a shark walking. The animal goes pretty fast and uses pectoral fins like rowers moving their bodies as well as long tails to dark corners in the ocean.

"Walking" sharks, also known as bamboo sharks, or carpet fat, belong to the family Hymiscylliidea and have the scientific name Hemiscyllium Halmahera. The closest relative to them is the Hemiscyllium Galei species, found in Cenderawasih Bay, West Papua New Guinea. Bamboo sharks are relatively small, the largest recorded individual is 1.22m long.
