Vietnam will build unmanned aircraft

Sweden will help the Vietnam Aeronautics Association (VASA) in technology transfer and development of unmanned mid-range aircraft.

At the signing ceremony of Vietnam - Sweden cooperation to build unmanned aircraft (UAV) held by VASA today, Prof. Nguyen Duc Cuong, VASA chairman emphasized the important role of UAV in the national fields. room - security, search and rescue, forest protection and management, in which UVA is most commonly used today is a remote monitoring task.

The mid-range UAV has a weight of 100kg, radio-controlled in combination with the automatic flight program outside the vision with the naked eye, the operating radius of 100 km, the operation time is continuously up to 10 hours.

"Vietnam and Sweden will build a mid-range unmanned aerial vehicle called Magic Eye 1 (Eye of God 1)," Cuong said. The eye 1 is 40kg in weight, the operating time is up to 6 hours, the maximum flight speed is 200km / hour, the radio contact radius is from 100 to 200m.

Under the plan, the cooperation project is divided into 3 phases. Phase 1, Sweden will help Vietnam with all funding and assembly equipment to fabricate two UAVs Eye 1, including the transfer of intellectual property, design designs, sending experts to Vietnam and private consult cooperation units.

In phase 2, the two sides will cooperate to develop aviation electronics science. In the final stage, the two sides will proceed to produce UAVs according to orders and export UAVs from Vietnam.

According to experts, the potential of UAV in Vietnam is great, it can perform tasks such as mapping, surveying, planning communication routes, border patrol, search and rescue.

Compared to remote sensing satellites, UAV has many advantages such as much cheaper prices, high resolution images hundreds of times due to shooting at close range, UAV technology is updated promptly and easily. .
