To create hybrid rice varieties, experiments were conducted on gene pools, hybridizing with each other; Breeding bacterial blight bacteria to test and evaluate molecules; After that, experiment with fertilizer for each type to maximize the potential of the combination; Experiment on density, distance, number of seedlings, clusters . to create rice populations with the highest productivity and minimize pests in the field.

Results of field tests showed that the "Viet lai 24" variety had a 120-day growth period, and a low and hard tree. The rice variety is also supplemented with Xa21 gene from a wild rice variety, which is resistant to blight disease and good drought tolerance, and can be grown on poor, degraded areas. In particular, the quality of rice of "Viet lai 24" is assessed as good and not dull.

Compared to all existing hybrid rice varieties in Vietnam, the "Viet lai 24" variety has the shortest growing time, less than 15-20 days imported hybrids, which are very suitable for spring tea cultivation. late and early season for farmers to deploy winter crops on schedule . The product has been granted a patent for the patent of the National Office of Intellectual Property.

Although "Viet lai 24" rice variety is still limited, it is not resistant to all strains of bacteria causing leaf blight in many different areas, but after 3 years of testing on most ecological regions, it has yielded average of 8-10 tons / ha. Especially suitable for high field foot thanks to good drought resistance, living on poor soil. With the above results, it is hoped that this hybrid rice will contribute to supplementing the structure of short-term rice varieties, contributing to the restructuring of crops and helping our country's agricultural sector step by step proactively produce hybrid rice varieties, limited. depends on foreign seed sources.
