VINASAT-2 will be launched into orbit 107

The Radio Frequency Department has successfully registered 3 orbits of 107, 126 and 131 for Vietnam to deploy VINASAT-2 satellite projects.

Mr. Doan Quang Hoan, Director of the Department said that VINASAT-2 satellite is expected to be put into orbit 107. The remaining two orbits will coordinate with foreign partners to exploit.

VINASAT-1 has transmission capacity equivalent to 10,000 voice / Internet / data transmission channels (about 120 television channels), coverage of Vietnam and many other countries, is expected to soon run out of capacity during the time next time.

Therefore, when launching VINASAT-2 (expected in 2011), it will not have to wait for registration of orbital position like the previous VINASAT-1.
