Vista's Aero interface does not slow down PC
Microsoft has just released the results of one of its studies, whereby running the Aero graphical interface of Windows Vista will not slow down the computer.
Speed measurements with more than 60 popular applications of Principled Technologies have shown that Aero 'has little or no bad effect on Windows Vista's performance .'
Matt Ayers, a Windows Client Performance Team program manager wrote on the group's blog: ' We tried very hard to ensure that the new interface was as effective as possible, and we paid off. You can run Aero without any difficulty! '
Principled Technologies tested a Dell XPS M170 laptop using a 750 2.0 GHz Pentium M chip, 1GB of RAM and a 256MB graphics card, not much different from the minimum configuration of 'Vista Premium Ready' computers. (strong enough to run Vista and Aero).
