VN: blood collection meets 70% of demand
According to the National Blood Transfusion Institute, the amount of blood collected in 2005-2006 was nearly 400,000 units / year, only meeting 70% of current use demand.
It is known that the goal of Vietnam is to mobilize the number of voluntary blood donors to take money to reach 70% by 2010. There have been nearly 2,500 people registered to donate blood at the festival "One drop of blood one heart" , will be held on April 4 in Hanoi.
Blood donation is to increase the amount of blood provided to hospitals for emergency treatment and treatment for patients, in addition to disaster prevention.
The amount of blood in each person is about 70ml / kg of weight. Thus, a 50kg person has about 3500ml of blood, 65kg has about 4500ml. Research and practice has shown that if you donate less than 1/10 of your blood in the body (from 350 to 450ml) in accordance with the physician's instructions, it is absolutely not harmful to health.
