Thus, the launch of Vietnam's first remote sensing satellite VNREDSAT-1 still depends on the weather conditions at the launching area of Kourou, Guyana.

According to the previous plan, the launch of VEGA boosters carrying VNREDSAT-1 satellite of Vietnam and two other satellites took place at 9: 6 minutes on 4/5 (Hanoi time). However, only 20 minutes before this time, Arianspace contractor decided to postpone the release due to unfavorable weather conditions.

VNREDSAT-1 project has a total investment of 55.8 million Euro, from the official development assistance loan of the French Government and nearly VND 65 billion of counterpart funds from the Government of Vietnam.

VNREDSAT-1 satellite will be launched by the contractor Arianespace into orbit with VEGA boosters from the Kourou, Guyana, and French aerospace airports. Arianespace Company has also successfully launched two telecommunications satellites VINASAT-1 and VINASAT-2 of Vietnam.

It is expected that after leaving the ground for 2 hours, VNREDSat-1 satellite will separate from the VEGA rocket and start its propulsion to adjust itself to the working trajectory.

Vietnam's first remote sensing satellite VNREDSat-1 is an Earth-observation optical satellite, capable of taking photos of all areas of the Earth's surface. When in operation, this satellite will combine with the system of receiving, storing and processing images of remote sensing satellites of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, creating a complete and independent monitoring system from defense. to the ground receiving station and the remote sensing data distribution processing center in Vietnam.
