Satellite of Vietnam by EADS Astrium Company, belonging to the European Defense Aerospace Corporation (EADS) is designed and manufactured by French satellites.
VNREDSat-1 project has a total investment of about 70 million USD with preferential ODA loans from the French Government and Vietnam's counterpart fund.
VNREDSat-1 is an earth-observation optical satellite capable of taking photos of all areas of the earth's surface. The satellite measures 600mm x 570mm x 500mm and weighs about 120kg. Its design life is 5 years.
When the project is successful, Vietnam will proactively provide high-resolution satellite images to ministries, branches and provinces that wish to use remote sensing satellite data, bringing practical efficiency to service. socio-economic development, coping with natural disasters and climate change.
