Want to 'fly' around the Moon? Hurry up and register with NASA!

Space travel is clearly for astronauts and later for the super rich, but NASA has devised a way for ordinary people to "fly" into space.

Your name could fly around the Moon on a historic mission

"You can send your name to the Moon," NASA officials wrote on Facebook. "How? Register to join the nearly 3 million "passengers" to fly around the Moon aboard the Orion spacecraft on the Artemis 1 mission this year." 

Specifically, people can visit the page: https://www.nasa.gov/send-your-name-with-artemis to register.

Science page Phys.org cited NASA's announcement as saying the Artemis 1 mission was the first step in establishing "a permanent human presence on the Moon for decades to come". 

"We'll work with international and commercial partners to establish the first permanent presence on the Moon. Then we'll use what we've seen on and around the Moon. to take the next step is to send the first astronauts to Mars," NASA said.

According to NASA, there are 3 Artemis missions including Artemis 1, 2, 3 to understand the Moon, such as its origin and geochemical composition. More importantly, the Artemis astronauts are scheduled to explore the Moon's south polar regions in search of water ice - a key element for a sustainable human presence on the moon.

Artemis will also pave the way for the commercialization of flights to the Moon and the exploitation of resources such as rare earth elements and helium-3.

Artemis 1 mission (scheduled to launch late 2022): The unmanned Orion spacecraft will orbit the Moon and return to Earth.

Artemis 2 mission (scheduled for 2024): The Orion spacecraft complete with crew will travel to the Moon and back without landing.

Artemis 3 mission (scheduled not earlier than 2025): Bringing 2 male and female astronauts to land near the south pole of the Moon.
