Warning of giant storms on the Atlantic Ocean

Seven months after Hurricane Sandy devastated the New England coast extending from the state of Maryland to Connecticut, residents and business owners of northeastern coastal areas in North America had to embrace news. It is very bad when climate scientists from both the US and Canada say that there will be huge storms on the Atlantic during this year's hurricane season.

Warning on May 24th of the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Weather Forecast Center, said this year's rainy season, started on June 1 and is expected to last long. At least 6 months, there will be big storms above normal levels. And the storms in the Atlantic region will range from strong to very strong.

On the basis of monitoring sea warming, Canada's Storm Warning Center has also warned Atlantic coastal provinces of the possibility of major storms this year.

According to scientists' estimates (with reliability up to 70%), this year's stormy season will have 13 to 20 storms named. There are about 7 to 11 storms with minimum winds of up to 119km / h and from 3 to 6 "super typhoons" with 178km / h or higher winds.

These forecast figures are higher than the average of the hurricane seasons between 1981 and 2010, with 12 named storms, 6 major storms and 3 "super typhoons" on the Atlantic.

During the typhoon season in 2012, the number of storms in the Atlantic region was higher than the average but lower in intensity. There are 19 named storms, of which 10 have become normal storms, only one of Michael's storms in September has been classified as large. Hurricane Sandy is also only at the lowest level of a giant storm with winds of up to 177km / h.

According to NOAA, making predictions regarding the possibility of landfall of storms is very difficult because the path of the storm depends on the daily weather, which cannot be predicted several months or few. week. And so all coastal areas and residents and businesses with maritime activities need to be aware of these warnings. Along with the preparation of measures and means against storms, it is necessary to regularly update information related to storms in order to take initiative in coping with and limiting human and property damage.
