Warning of sugar content in drinks

A recent study in the UK shows that most people underestimate the sugar content of the supposedly healthy drinks, according to the BBC.

More than 2,000 people in the UK participated in the study by estimating the amount of sugar in the drinks they often use.

Research results show that while many people estimate too high sugar content in carbonated drinks, many others estimate too low sugar in fruit juices and vitamins.

The research leader, Professor Naveed Sattar, said what we drink can affect the body as we eat it. Some drinks, such as fruit juices and vitamins, which are considered 'healthy' choices, also contain high levels of sugar.

Researchers also warn that excessive consumption of sweet drinks is contributing to obesity and the main risk of diabetes, hypertension, heart disease and stroke.

Therefore, for those who want to "sign down", they should reduce the use of these drinks and replace them with filtered water or diet drinks.
