We see other people more attractive after drinking beer
Due to the effects of alcohol, people often feel people around become more attractive after drinking beer and alcohol.
A team of experts from the University of Bristol in England conducted an experiment to assess the role of beverages in people's perception of attraction . In the experiment, volunteers divided into two groups. One group took a normal placebo, while the other drank a placebo containing alcohol before looking at 20 men faces, 20 women faces and 20 landscapes. Volunteers then assessed the attractiveness of the face, the landscape they saw with a scale, Telegraph reported.
The results showed that the average score of the group drinking alcohol was much higher than the average of the other group. That means they not only see the faces becoming more attractive, but even the landscape is better than the group that doesn't drink alcohol.
"Our research confirms the validity of a hypothesis, whereby people will feel more attractive after drinking alcohol-containing solutions such as beer, wine," the expert team concluded.
Currently, the Bristol University team is extending research in a practical way. They performed experiments for 4 nights at 3 different pubs in Bristol city.
'This is a funny story but it also brings serious messages. If alcohol changes the perception of attractiveness, it could be the cause of dangerous behaviors in drunken people, such as indiscriminate sex, no condom use, ' Olivia Maynard , a member of the research team, said.
