This honey is different from the regular honey we buy in the market. Each kilo of honey costs 10,000 Euros, equivalent to 271 million VND.
Centauri Honey recently took to Instagram to share the world record news and wrote ' The much more important award is "healthier people" and "thank you" from all over the world'.
This expensive honey can only be harvested once a year.
If we follow the media reports, it is a rare honey that is dark in color and has a strong bitter taste. It is harvested once a year from inside the cave.
According to a statement released by the GWR website, the beekeepers follow a special process to ensure the best quality honey is produced. The statement reads: 'This honey is excavated (as the name suggests) from a cave 2,500 metres above sea level, far from human habitation and any other bee colonies.' The high altitude also makes harvesting the honey difficult and only the best products are harvested.
The altitude makes the honey production process extremely difficult, especially taking care of the bee colonies to ensure the best quality.
Unlike other types of honey, this expensive honey can only be harvested once a year . Samples of the harvested honey are then sent to the Scientific Council, Turkish Food Institute for quality verification.
It is interesting to know that the bees here are fed on medicinal herbs that are grown around the cave and are rich in magnesium, potassium, phenols, flavonoids and antioxidants. This makes the honey healthy and nutritious, with a slightly bitter taste. In addition, Centauri honey is resistant to cold weather and high altitudes .
Information about Centauri honey is closely guarded as a state secret.
"This honey cannot be widely sold in markets or stores because the production never reaches tons," said Ahmet Eren Cakir, founder of Centauri Honey. " Some people think it is an expensive honey, but I call it a world treasure."
