The fossil site stretches up to 300 meters, near Chu Thanh city, which is known as China's "Dinosaur City". During the seven months of excavation, a group of Chinese scientists discovered about 7,600 dinosaur fossils, including a 20-meter-long fossil of the duck-billed dinosaur named science hadrosaurus. This is probably the largest sized hadrosaurus fossil today.

In the past few years, China has promoted research, archaeological excavations and has discovered some valuable fossils. However, the country is also facing fossil and antiquities trafficking.

In January this year, Australia returned to China hundreds of seized dinosaur fossils, including some dinosaur eggs dating back hundreds of millions of years.
