Which country discharges the most waste into the universe?

Every minute passed, thousands of satellites were launched into the sky, at altitudes ranging from a few hundred miles to tens of thousands of miles. People have built a lot of things to put into space, and do you know: about 95% of things out of space are garbage?

These are space stations that are out of control, missile fragments, damaged satellites, lost items of astronauts and many more.

A universe full of garbage

These dangerous 'garbage garages' move 10 times faster than warheads, which is fortunate to take a long time to crash into Earth.

"But these debris can exist in space for hundreds of years," said Bill Ailor, an aerospace engineer . And everything is worse than that!

Just a small collision in space, thousands of high-speed and uncontrollable fragments will be a serious threat to the spacecraft. According to the European Space Agency, there are currently about 170 million fragments larger than 1mm of explosive pieces and bolts that are wandering around the Earth at 10,000 meters per hour.

'It takes years for countries to learn the lesson. They know that every time they create the debris, they are endangering their own system as well as others' , said Taylor, who works for a non-profit airline organization.

Business Insider relied on data from Space-Track to create a chart showing the 10 countries with the largest number of objects launched into space, as of October 2017. The graph shows, Russia is a launcher. objects get the most space with more than 6,500 objects. However, this is not the most garbage-discharging water in the universe. It is the United States that owns the title 'the dirtiest country in space'.

It was discovered that Russia had 3,961 fragments in space, while the number in the United States was 3,999. These piles of rubbish are all created by countries' space exploration activities.

China has only recently expanded its space program, but has been able to race to rank third in the rankings with 3,475 pieces of trash. In 2007, the country destroyed a satellite in an anti-missile weapon test. This controversial move created more than 2,300 pieces of trash in space, and hundreds of thousands of pieces were too small to be detected.

Clearing out space?

Putting past old spacecraft out of orbit is the key to preventing the formation of garbage in space. Currently, many space agencies and corporations are building spacecraft with the function of throwing nets to clean up garbage.

And Ailor and other researchers want to develop new technologies and methods to handle these potentially dangerous objects. Garbage can be tied, packed and pulled."I suggest organizing a competition like XPRIZE or Grand Challenge, we will give great rewards to those who find the most effective way to get rid of this rubbish," said Ailor.

The ultimate goal of clearing the outer space is to prevent a dark tragedy: when there is a lot of things in the universe, a collision occurs that can lead to many other collisions. Countless pieces of trash will continue to come from these clashes - this is very dangerous for the Earth.

However, the biggest obstacle in removing space debris comes from people."This is not just a technical problem, in this case, ownership is a very headache. For example, other countries are not allowed to touch US satellites, and if they are we follow behind a satellite, even one might consider this a declaration of war. "

According to Mr. Ailor, countries should soon agree and come up with a common treaty, regulating rights and obligations for garbage objects in the universe, otherwise, the consequences will be terrible.
