Why is information insecurity still happening frequently?

Security and safety of information and network security are one of the major concerns of Vietnamese enterprises (IT). Recently, there have been a lot of warnings from network security agencies, especially for businesses that are implementing online transactions, but the attacks still happen a lot. Mr. Chuck Trent, Vice Chairman of the Group, Senior Director of IT in Asia - TBD and Japan of Cisco shared practical knowledge and experience on this issue.

He commented on the problem: Why are so many agencies using advanced security solutions, but the number of attacks still happens quite often?

In my opinion, although businesses have increased investment in network security systems, the number of attacks has not decreased due to three reasons. Firstly, over time, enterprises when applying IT will greatly increase the number of service equipment. Secondly, due to the degree of dispersion. When businesses increase the deployment of equipment to employees in the company, this dispersion increases the potential risks of information security.

Another problem is that previously viruses or spam spam . people created on the network mainly for entertainment purposes or satisfy the needs of IT applications and research, but now it is different. More and more people are creating viruses or spam that are not good, there are many studies and actions focusing on the network security system of one or more businesses.

As a CIO, what can you share with Vietnam's CIOs in building an appropriate network security system?

In my experience, in order to build a secure network security system, we must start from analyzing and listing all the hazards that may occur in the network security of the business itself. However, in fact, each enterprise has a different threat and concern. In order to identify potential hazards for specific businesses or organizations, it is necessary to have the participation of the people of that enterprise and sometimes also need support from the side consultants. In addition to helping them to list, analyze all the dangers.

The second issue is also very important, which is the policy on employees and people in the company as well as business partners and partners of enterprises. Must specify what information they can access, what areas . From there we will find the input for network security solutions correctly. People, technology and processes - these are three indispensable elements in online business.

Which network security solution will suit the type of online business today?

In fact at Cisco today over 95% of Cisco transactions, trade exchanges and orders are online. And 85% of Cisco's technical support for customers is also online. Because business exchanges as well as Cisco customer support are mostly done online, Cisco's IT systems are deployed globally to ensure network security and network security devices are implanted. in each component of the system, one device at a time. And these security solutions designed by us can integrate with other parts from the beginning.

From the beginning we invested a huge infrastructure system. At the same time it is the ability to integrate security solutions from network elements to the overall components. We anticipated and planned ahead to ensure network security for our system. And I think that Vietnamese enterprises should also have such a way to ensure their network security system.
